She tells secrets to the travelers of the Mansus, and has begun to observe the Wake, seeking secrets to tell others, just to see what knowing them fabricates.

The Wispy Tress is the Hour of conspiracy, secrets, and spying. All whispers are shouts to her, and dishonesty a pane of glass, though she may as well make that glass a mirror.

Description

History

The Wispy Tress was born in a time mostly unknown to mankind, though she was not exactly the Wispy Tress then. When the Mansus was conquered by mortals for the first time however, things changed: the "free" Wispy Tress became a paranoid entity, running in the depths of the Wood near the House of the Wyrm, whispering all kinds of secrets and the things to come, or at least the things she think are to come, to mortals visiting the Mansus. When she was not doing that, she rested in the House of the Wyrm, but heard the Birds sing in the House of the King, just for her to tell more and more and more and more secrets. Eventually, she tried to drown herself in the River of the Rocks, though she miserably failed, and then, the Collision happened, all of the sudden, though she remained unharmed. Now, with her original woods being destroyed, the Wispy Tress continues telling secrets anyways, though a greater scheme starts to emerge... If you meet her, run, or embrace her...she always keeps the skin for documentation; after all, she is still professional.

Appearance

The Mistress in the Woods commonly takes the appearance of a woman with tousled hair in the colors of the Woods' dirt, though that is the only thing that is always the same. When she is near the Rivers, her eyes are blue like the skies at dawn, and her skin is the color of bark. In the Woods, her eyes are green like emeralds, and her skin is the color of moths' skin. She wears the skin she writes on as clothing, though one may not be able to differ it from simple clothing.

Principles

The Wispy Tress incorporates secrets and conspiracy, but also near-raging paranoia and madness, of sorts. These, being fueled by shier whimsy, are all represented in the aspect of Moth. For a long time, people would simply acknowledge that being all there is to her, though by now people are starting to mutter about a conspiracy against the House itself, which, of course, the Emerald Tree hears all the time.

Worship

Cult

The Mistress in the Woods is worshipped by all those who silently observe, and seek help from her, and those, who want to join her conspiracy, and bring the Glory to the Woods and the Woods to the Wake. The motives are obscure, though who knows what lies beneath the skin that was already torn off?

Mark

In order to join the Wispy Tress, one must prove that they themselves can tear their own skin off, and reveal what's beneath, so as to prove to be ready to steal the world's skin.

  1. Temptation: Skin: I've seen a hint of something beneath the torn skin of the world.
  2. Dedication: Skin: I have dedicated myself to the Mistress in the Woods, so as to tear away the rags of the skin of the world, and unveil what's beneath, for the flesh to bleed an eternity.
  3. Ascension: Skin: When the hair bleeds, what was once the skin is the skin again. When the hair is cut away, what was once skin is offered to her, and this is then the Third Mark.
  4. Ascension: Skin: My skin is beginning to tatter, and I beneath it I hear whispers, sometimes. When I twitch my fingers, I read the finest poetry on concrete, and then I want to write to write to write. This is the Fourth Mark.
  5. Ascension: Skin: My eyes are starting to sink in, and my skin hangs almost as loose as cloth. I am not cold, but sometimes, I dance, just to loosen my skin, and free myself from the cage we made ourselves a bit more. This is the Fifth Mark.
  6. Ascension: Skin: Sometimes I can see the blood beneath my skin, and it is black like the nights we walked outside, the nights we wanted to go to another place, not too far from our house, the place where we had our own, tiny adventures, just before the night would get cold, and when the streets were still dappled by light. Please-
  7. Snip snip snip: Now, I enter the Woods, and wander towards where the River of the Seas and the River of the Rocks meet. Here, the Wispy Trees awaits me, and takes my skin, and offers it to me, with tales of friends and secrets and betrayal written on it. I enter the Lake of the Woods, and then I wander on torn skin of the world, waiting for the moment it will be torn off.
