One step backwards and two steps forward. One most lose to achieve greater gains. One must sacrifice to prosper. The Sludge, while adamant to stay alive, does not crave its own growth, and lives to serve and teach mortalsall lesser beings. While it eats memories, it does not consume anything that the mind derived from them, thus its followers eventually become great, empty-minded sages - masters of logic and quick thought, and ridiculously fast learners. It teaches determination, persistence - the joy of learning and the power of knowledge - the difference between the smart and the wise.
